Electrician in Sheffield

We've been electrical contractors in Sheffield for over 20 years. As a result we've dealt with almost every possible electrical situation and problem across the entire Sheffield area, and our experience means that we've dealt with every rewiring obstacle imaginable, from laminate floors to tiled walls and floors.

Fuseboards, consumer units, fuseboxes

With the new IEE Wiring Regulations now in force fuseboards fitted before 2007 are not to current standard, due to this most of the homes in the Sheffield area need a new fuseboard in order to be able to test any work done, though this can be costly (£200-£350) depending on the size of the board and the number of ways (fuses) it is a relatively quick job (2-5hrs) and is the fastest and easiest way to bring your home up to current safety regulations.

Circuits and Rewiring

Socket circuits are divided in to 3 different sections throughout the house in a modern wiring system with the upstairs, kitchen and rest of downstairs on there own respective circuits.

Some of our most common jobs include kitchen and extension rewiring -

New circuits for kitchen sockets which ideally should always have their own separate circuit from the rest of the house, and rewiring cooker circuits, which always have their own fuse for safety reasons.

We also carry out wiring for all kinds of lighting - this is becoming more popular across Sheffield as customers become increasingly aware of the many different types of lighting available and how they can really change the aesthetics of any room. Our experience means we are able to offer expert consultation and advice services - helping you choose the best design, wiring and installation solution.

These are a good way to subtly highlight the floor in your new kitchen, these come in a range of colours the 2 most common being white and blue, plinth lights fit below your kitchen base cupboards around 50mm (2”) off the floor.

We will happily advise on the amount and design of plinth lights to have in your kitchen.

Wall light can be fitted in most household rooms, though not installed in bathrooms (due to wiring regulations) or generally in kitchens (due to cupboard positions). There is a extensive range of modern and traditional wall lights to choose from to suit your style and décor.

Working in Sheffield

I have lived in various areas in Sheffield throughout my life and know only too well of the diversity in the building types from 200+ year old homes out towards Mayfield, Fulwood and Worral with there 600mm (2ft) thick walls and far from straight walls, right through the homes built in the 20th century like Handsworth, Chapletown, Woodseats and most other areas in Sheffield, generally with ’lat and plaster’ walls and ceilings. to the modern estates at Stradbrooke, Mosborough, Wadsley Park Village and many more areas which are normally just studded walls with plaster board and sheet flooring rather than floor boards and have done work successfully in all these house types, and hope I am doing so for some time to come.
